The World Federation for Neurorehabilitation invites researchers, clinicians, innovators, and students to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations at the 14th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation. The congress will take place in Daegu, South Korea from 14-17 October 2026 and will feature cutting-edge discussions and discoveries in the field of neurorehabilitation.

We are looking forward to receiving a diverse range of abstracts showcasing the latest developments and scientific breakthroughs, updates in patient care and interesting and unique case studies.

The list of possible abstract topics:

  • Emerging neuromodulation methods
  • New cell-based therapies
  • Interdisciplinary innovations in community re-integration
  • Telehealth in neurorehabilitation
  • Patient oriented research
  • Family and community based rehabilitation
  • Technology (e.g., assistive, mHealth, AI, AR/VR, robotics)

  • Microbiome and neurological disease
  • Novel trial methods
  • Mentoring for successful careers in rehabilitation research

We welcome submissions from all professional disciplines contributing to the field of neurorehabilitation, including medicine, physiotherapy, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, biomedical engineering, and digital health.

For WCNR2026, we will provide a larger number of slots for oral presentations than usual.

Young researchers and students are particularly encouraged to submit.

The abstracts will be published online in WFNR’s official journal, Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair.  There should also be an e-abstract book available.

 

TRAVEL FELLOWSHIPS

We are pleased to announce that three Travel Fellowships, worth US$1000 each, are available to attend WCNR2026:

One Fellowship is from the World Federation for Neurorehabilitation (WFNR).

Initiated by the Organising Committee of the 10th WCNR Mumbai and supported by the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation and the Neurorehab Subgroup of the Indian Academy of Neurology, two further Travel Fellowship are available. One is for a health professional from India and one from any other country classified by the World Bank as Low or Lower Middle Income.

All applicants must have an abstract accepted for WCNR.

Your abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and may qualify for publication in an online publication of WFNR’s official journal, Neurorehabilitation & Neural Repair (NNR).

Presenting an abstract enhances your professional reputation by showcasing your knowledge, ideas and techniques to other professionals and experts in the field and ultimately help to improve the lives of patients by giving them access to the best methods of neurorehabilitation.

RULES FOR SUBMISSION

Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only. The abstract submission portal will be opened soon.
  • The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 April 2026.  Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline.  Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster or presentation. Authors must indicate their preference.
    The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, with consideration given to the author’s preference.
  • Abstracts should clearly state: Background and aims, methods, results, conclusions
  • Acceptance of abstracts is only possible after registration. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees will be scheduled for presentation and included for publication.
  • Authors will be informed if abstracts have been accepted with enough time to register.
  • Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official Congress publications.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.

FORMATTING

  • Abstract title – must be in upper case and limited to 25 words.  Please submit symbols as words. It should express the research essence (concise summary) and should convince the reader that the topic is important, relevant, and innovative.
  • Abstract text – limited to 300 words including acknowledgements.  Please note: word count is affected when tables are included.
  • Abstract topic – select the abstract topic per the list of topics
  • Images – The maximum file size of each image is 500 KB.  The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600 (w) x 800 (h) pixel.  You may upload images in JPG, GIF or PNG format
  • Abstract should clearly state:
  1. Background and Aims
    In two brief sentences, provide the rational for the investigation and/or the question to be answered, with or without short citation(s).
  2. Methods
    The experimental conditions should be reported briefly.
  3. Results
    The results should be stated in a maximum of three sentences.
  4. Conclusions
    This is any conclusion(s) that can be drawn from the presentation. This final statement is crucial because it supports the scientific value submission.
    Use only standard abbreviations.  Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word, the first time it appears.
